Suffolk County Man Faces Six Counts of Murder in Serial Killings
Arrested on Thursday Night
Rex Cuermann, a resident of Massapequa Park on Long Island, was arrested in Midtown Manhattan on Thursday night and charged in the murders of six women.
Three Decades of Alleged Killings
The charges stem from three separate cases spanning three decades. Heuermann is accused of murdering three women in the Gilgo Beach serial killings, which took place between 2010 and 2011. He is also charged with the murders of two women in Manhattan in 1990 and 2003.
Long History of Professionalism and Mysterious Behavior
Heuermann, who was a successful businessman in Manhattan, has been described as a meticulous and organized individual. However, neighbors in Massapequa Park have reported strange behavior from him, including late-night walks carrying suspicious items.
Six Counts of First-Degree Murder
Heuermann was transported to Suffolk County and charged with six counts of first-degree murder. He is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
